The Faceplate Replacement History Report displays a log of every controller display replacement that has occurred across a company account. Each entry records the details of the replacement, including which controller was affected, what changed, and who performed the action.
What Is a Faceplate Replacement?
A Baseline controller display (faceplate), contains the programming, serial number, the hardware responsible for network connectivity and carries the controller MAC address. When a controller display is replaced — whether due to an upgrade, an in-warranty replacement, or an out-of-warranty replacement — the MAC address associated with that controller changes while the serial number remains the same. The AdminManager replace faceplate process enables the replacement display to inherent all the controller data required for seamless operation after the replacement.
The Faceplate Replacement History Report tracks these changes, providing a record of every display replacement that has been logged for controllers in the account, for audit and warranty reference information.
Report Header
The top of the report displays the company name, the date the report was generated, and the AppManager user who generated it.
How the Report Is Organized
Replacement records are grouped by site and then by controller within each site. Each individual replacement event appears as its own entry. A controller that has had its display replaced more than once will have multiple entries listed sequentially under the same controller name.
Replacement Entry Fields
Each replacement entry displays the following information:
Controller – The name assigned to the controller in AppManager.
Serial – The serial number of the controller base unit. This remains the same across all display replacements for the same controller.
Type – The controller model (e.g., BL-1000, BL-3200S).
Version – The firmware version running on the controller at the time the report was generated.
Authorization Date – The date the controller's serial number was first connected to AppManager.
Existing MAC Address – The MAC address of the controller display that was replaced.
Current MAC Address – The MAC address of the new controller display that was installed.
Who Changed – The AppManager username of the person who performed or recorded the replacement. This may appear as a username or an email address depending on how the user's account is configured.
When Changed – The date and time the replacement was recorded in AppManager.
Authorization Date
The Authorization Date reflects when the controller was first registered and connected to AppManager — not when the faceplate replacement occurred. This date remains the same across all replacement entries for a given controller, as it is tied to the controller rather than the display.
MAC Address Changes
Because the MAC address is associated with the controller display hardware, each replacement results in a new MAC address being assigned to the controller in AppManager. The Existing MAC Address shows what the controller was previously identified as, and the Current MAC Address shows what it is identified as following the replacement. The serial number linking both entries to the same physical controller remains unchanged.
Multiple Entries for the Same Controller
A controller may appear more than once in the report if its display has been replaced on multiple occasions. Each replacement is recorded as a separate entry, listed in chronological order. Reviewing multiple entries for the same controller provides a full history of every display change that has taken place on that device.
