Step-by-Step Guide
Understanding the Alert
The Controller Event Date Stop message indicates that all watering has been stopped for the current date due to an event date that was previously set in the controller. The alert displays the controller name, the date and time the event was triggered, and confirms that event dates have blocked all watering activity.
When this alert appears, all controller watering operations are stopped for the current date.
🚨This is a system-wide stop that affects all programs on the controller.
What Causes This Alert
A controller event date stop occurs when an event date has been programmed into the controller and that specific date has arrived. Event dates are calendar-based settings that prevent watering from occurring on designated days.
Controller event dates can only be set in two locations: directly at the physical controller itself, or through the Live View interface. These are the only two places where event dates are configured, so troubleshooting should begin with these locations.
Removing an Event Date
1. Navigate to either the physical controller or access the controller through Live View.
2. Locate the event date list in the controller settings.
3. Remove the event date from the list if it is no longer needed or was set in error.
Applying Event Dates to Specific Programs
If you want watering to stop on certain dates but only for specific programs rather than all programs on the controller, you can configure event dates on a per-program basis.
1. Access the controller at the physical unit or through Live View.
2. Instead of applying the event date globally to all programs, apply the event date to only the individual program or programs that should be affected.
This allows other programs to continue their normal watering schedules while the selected program observes the event date stop.
Verifying Date and Time Settings
It is important to verify that the controller's current date and time are set correctly, as incorrect settings can cause event dates to trigger at the wrong time.
1. Navigate to the Date and Time dial position on the controller.
2. Check that the displayed date and time match the actual current date and time.
Controllers that are connected to BaseManager will automatically set the date and time, so manual adjustment is typically not necessary for connected units. However, verifying the settings ensures that event dates are triggering as intended.
