    Program Pause Water Window

Understanding the Message Program Pause Water Window

    PDF

    Step-by-Step Guide

The Program Pause Water Window message indicates that a program has been paused because a water window is currently closed. The message displays the following information:

    • Program number – Which program has been paused
    • Date and time – When the pause occurred
    • Priority level – Typically shown as "Low"
    • Status – "Program paused a water window is closed"

What Happens When This Message Appears

When a program is paused due to a water window:

    • All watering for the affected program stops immediately
    • All zones assigned to that program pause as well
    • Watering will automatically resume where it left off as soon as the water window opens again

    What Water Windows Do

Water windows allow or disallow watering at specific times or on specific days. They are designed to prevent watering during critical periods, such as:

    • When people are actively using a park or facility
    • When school is in session
    • During other scheduled activities that conflict with irrigation

If there is a conflict between a program runtime and a water window, the water window will always prevail and make the program wait until the window opens up again.

    Common Causes

The most common causes for a Program Pause Water Window message include:

    • Enabling a weekly or daily water window within a program
    • The program run time extending into a closed window period

    Daily Water Window Example

A program with a daily water window enabled restricts watering during the same time period every day of the week. For example:

If a daily water window is set to close between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM, programs will not run during those hours on any day. A program that starts at 8:00 AM and needs to continue running will pause at 9:00 AM when the water window closes. It will automatically resume at 8:00 PM when the water window opens again.

    Weekly Water Window Example

A program with a weekly water window enabled can restrict watering on specific days of the week. For example:

If a weekly water window is configured with all of Monday closed, any program that attempts to run or continue at any time on Monday will go into a paused state. The program can resume on Tuesday at midnight when the water window opens.

    Troubleshooting Steps

Before troubleshooting a Program Pause Water Window message, start by asking: Was the water window intended?

If you intentionally configured the water window to prevent watering during a certain period or on a certain day, no further action is needed. The system is working as designed.

Understanding the impact of program water windows on watering times will help you use them efficiently and avoid unintended pauses in irrigation.
