Single Valve (WT2W-H20-1VD) and Two Valve (WT2W-H20-1VD)
Note
If the master valve decoder is not pre-programmed you will need to program it at the controller BEFORE wiring.
For instructions on how to program a decoder read: Programming a Single Valve Decoder and Programming a Two Valve Decoder
Warning
The Decoder wires must not have electrical contact with the soil or water. All connections must use DBR/Y-6 or equivalent moisture-resistant connectors. Install all connections correctly. Damage to the system will occur if these specifications are not followed.
How to Wire a Single Valve Decoder
1. Power off the 2-wire when installing devices. Leave 24 to 36 inches of slack on the 2-wire to allow for easy installation and maintenance.
2. Control valves can be located a maximum of 250ft from the decoder location by using additional 14 gauge wires.
3. Connect the orange wire to the pilot wire from the control valve and the white wire to the common wire from the master valve.
4. Connect the red and black wire from the decoder to the corresponding red and black wires on the 2-wire. It is critical that polarity be maintained.
Note: The common wires cannot be shared between different decoders.
How to Wire a Two Valve Decoder
- Power off the 2-wire when installing devices. Leave 24 to 36 inches of slack on the 2-wire to allow for easy installation and maintenance.
- Control valves can be located a maximum of 250ft from the decoder location by using additional 14 gauge wires.
- Connect the orange wire to the pilot wire from control valve 1 and connect the yellow wire to the pilot wire of control valve 2.
- Connect the white wire to both common wire from control valve 1 and 2 (three wires should be in wire nut).
- Connect the red and black wire from the decoder to the corresponding red and black wires on the 2-wire. It is critical that polarity be maintained.
- Note: The common wires cannot be shared between different decoders.
