    BaseStation 3200: Wi-Fi Module

    PDF es:

Learn how to install and configure the BL-Cloud-WFE WiFi module on the BaseStation 3200 V17.11.

    Step-by-Step Guide

First, ensure that your Wifi Module box has a wireless service activation info card, a power cord, mounting screws and a zip tie, a salt shaker antenna, an antenna cord, and the cell module itself.

    Installation

Power down the controller at the circuit breaker, or by removing the plastic cover and unplugging the orange lead from the transformer.

Next pull up the rubber plug from the antenna hole and install the salt shaker antenna. Simply tighten slightly with a wrench, no need to torque it down.

Next, screw on the hand tightening antenna cable, which attaches the antenna to the module. Ensure it is snug, but no need for excessive tightening. Mount the module to the chassis using the provided screws and ensure a tight fit.

Next, tighten down the other end of the antenna onto the module.

Finally, attach the power cable to the cell module and then to the power board at the port labeled “COM 2”. Use the provided zip tie to secure the power cable and antenna together, so they aren’t damaged.

If you removed the front panel during the installation, reconnect the panel, ribbon cable, and grounding wire. Ensure that the antenna is connected BEFORE powering up the controller. Connecting a device without an antenna will damage the module and void the warranty.

    Configuration

Turn the dial to the network position, and press enter on the Communication Setup menu. Use the (+/-) buttons to change the Comm Type option to CN_WIFI (Cloud Network WIFI). The Comm Type Status option should read that it “Is Available” but not “Connected".

Arrow down to WIFI Setup and press enter. With "find a network" highlighted, press enter to search for your local WIFI network. Select your WIFI network by highlightig it and pressing enter. Next, enter the password for your WIFI network using the virtual keyboard. Once that is entered, press "Ok". From the Communication Setup screen press BACK and select the BaseManager Server Setup option. With “Connect” highlighted, press enter, and you should see the status change to "Connected". If it does not say "Connected", continue to the next step. Otherwise you are done!

    Connecting to BaseManager

If you haven’t already connected the controller to BaseManager, after selecting “Connect” in the BaseManager Server Setup screen ,you will see an authorization PIN that you will need to add a controller to an existing BaseManager account. Take a photo of this screen or write the PIN down.

At baselineapps.net, login to your account and open BaseManager, then in the menu in the upper left corner select Administration and then Administration again.

In this tab go to my controllers and then add a new controller.

Select a site, enter the pin, and then add any additional site data to complete the activation and connection process.

Back at the controller, set the dial to the run position. If the option for base manager is green and it says "connected", the Wifi Module is active and is connected to BaseManager.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up your Baseline Wifi Module with your BaseStation 3200. For more information, see our Cloud Network Modem Guide.
