WiFi Module Installation and Setup, BaseStation 1000

    BaseStation 1000:WiFi Module

    PDF es:

Learn how to install and configure the BL-Cloud-WFE WiFi module on the BaseStation 1000.

    Step-by-Step Guide

First, ensure that your Wifi Module box has a wireless service activation info card, a power cord, mounting screws and a zip tie, a salt shaker antenna, an antenna cord, and the cell module itself.

    Installation

Power down the controller at the circuit breaker, or by removing the plastic cover and unplugging the orange lead from the transformer.

Next pull up the rubber plug from the antenna hole and install the salt shaker antenna. Simply tighten slightly with a wrench, no need to torque it down.

Next, screw on the hand tightening antenna cable, which attaches the antenna to the module. Ensure it is snug, but no need for excessive tightening. Mount the module to the chassis using the provided screws and ensure a tight fit.

Next, tighten down the other end of the antenna onto the module.

Finally, attach the power cable to the cell module and then to the power board at the port labeled “COM 2”. Use the provided zip tie to secure the power cable and antenna together, so they aren’t damaged.

If you removed the front panel during the installation, reconnect the panel, ribbon cable, and grounding wire. Ensure that the antenna is connected BEFORE powering up the controller. Connecting a device without an antenna will damage the module and void the warranty.

    Configuration

To configure the wi-fi module press the system setup button and navigate to network setup

At communication setup press ok and use the plus or minus buttons to find cn wi-fi (cloud network wi-fi).

Arrow down to wi-fi setup and press ok to start a search for a local wi-fi network navigate through the list of found wi-fi networks highlight your preferred network and then press ok. Now you'll be prompted for the network security key or password so use the plus or minus buttons to enter the correct password. Once that's entered, navigate to the OK option and then press the ok button.

From the Network Setup menu open Base Manager Info.

If the Base Manager Info status reads Disconnected, press ok to connect. After a moment the status will change to Connected. If you've previously connected to base manager you'll see the status change to connected both here and on the run screen. If you haven't previously connected your controller to BaseManager, an authorization code should have appeared on your screen. While memorizing this code is impressive, we recommend taking a photo or writing it down.

    Connecting to BaseManager

At baselineapps.net, login to your account and open BaseManager, then in the menu in the upper left corner select Administration and then Administration again.

In this tab, go to my controllers and then add a new controller.

Select a site, enter the pin, and then add any additional site data to complete the activation and connection process.

Back at the controller, you can verify that you are connected by checking the status of the controller.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up your Baseline Cloud Wifi module with your BaseStation 1000. For more information, see our Cloud Network Modem Guide.
