Learn how to install and configure the BL-Cloud cell modem module in the BaseStation 1000.
Please note that the activation link in the in video is outdated. For the current link, please go here.
Step-by-Step Guide
Ensure that your Cell Modem box has a wireless service activation info card, a power cord, mounting screws and a zip tie, a salt shaker antenna, and the cell module itself.
Prior to installation, activate the module using the information on the activation card. Go to https://form.jotform.com/42736672737162 and input all of the required personal information and site information. Finalize the form by agreeing to the terms and conditions, and add some semblance of a signature.
Please allow 3-5 business days for activation, Baseline will contact you to let you know that your modem has been activated. Please do not install a modem to a controller before it has been activated.
Installation
Power down the controller at the circuit breaker, or by removing the plastic cover and unplugging the orange lead from the transformer.
Next pull up the rubber plug from the antenna hole and install the salt shaker antenna. Simply tighten slightly with a wrench, no need to torque it down.
Next, screw on the hand tightening antenna cable, which attaches the antenna to the modem. Ensure it is snug, but no need for excessive tightening. Mount the cell modem to the chassis using the provided screws and ensure a tight fit.
Finally, attach the power cable to the cell module and then to the power board at the port labeled “COM 2”. Use the provided zip tie to secure the power cable and antenna together, so they aren’t damaged.
If you removed the front panel during the installation, reconnect the panel, ribbon cable, and grounding wire. Ensure that the antenna is connected BEFORE powering up the controller. Connecting a device without an antenna will damage the modem and void the warranty.
Configuration
To configure the cell module press the system setup button and navigate to network setup
At communication setup press ok and use the plus or minus buttons to find "CN Cell" (cloud network cell).
Under "Cell Modem Info" we can verify that the modem is registered and ready. Press back twice, and select "BaseManager Setup" to verify if BaseManager is enabled or not.
Press back and navigate to "BaseManager Info" and press OK to connect. If you have previously connected your controller to BaseManager, it should say "Connected" and you are done. If you haven't previously connected your controller to BaseManager, an authorization code should have appeared on your screen. While memorizing this code is impressive, we recommend taking a photo or writing it down.
Connecting to BaseManager
At baselineapps.net, login to your account and open BaseManager, then in the menu in the upper left corner select Administration and then Administration again.
In this tab, go to my controllers and then add a new controller.
Select a site, enter the pin, and then add any additional site data to complete the activation and connection process.
Back at the controller, you can verify that you are connected by checking the status of the controller back at BaseManager Info.
Congratulations! You have successfully set up your Baseline Cloud Cell Modem with your BaseStation 1000. For more information, see our Cloud Network Modem Guide.
