    • Wireless activation information card
    • Antenna cable
    • Short ethernet cable
    • Salt shaker antenna (packaged separately)

    Activating the Cell Modem

The cell modem must be activated before installation. You will need the modem information from the activation card and access to the Baseline activation web page.

    1. Locate the wireless activation information card included in your package. This card contains the SIM number and serial number you will need for activation.

    2. Visit the HydroPoint activation web page and complete the activation form with the following information:

    • Account name
    • Billing address
    • Contact name
    • Billing phone number
    • Billing email address

    3. Enter the cell modem SIM number and cell modem serial number from the activation card.

    4. Provide the controller name and site name.

    5. Review and agree to the listed terms and conditions.

    6. Enter your name and use your mouse to provide a signature.

    7. Submit the Cell Service Activation Form and allow approximately one day for the activation to be processed. Wait for confirmation that your cell modem has been activated before proceeding with installation.

    Powering Down the Controller

Before installing the cell modem, the controller must be completely powered down.

    1. Power down the controller using one of the following methods:

    • Turn off power at the circuit breaker, or
    • Unplug the controller, or
    • Remove the plastic cover and unplug the orange lead from the transformer

    Installing the Salt Shaker Antenna

    1. Locate the rubber plug in the antenna hole on the controller enclosure and pull it out.

    2. Install the salt shaker antenna into the antenna hole.

    3. Use a wrench to snug down the antenna lightly. Do not over-torque—just tighten until snug.

Connecting and Mounting the Cell Modem

    1. Before mounting the modem, connect the short ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the cell modem.

    2. Take the small antenna fitting and connect it to the adapter labeled WWAN MAIN on the modem.

    3. Mount the cell modem to the inside top of the controller enclosure using two screws. The weather stripping material will provide extra support to the back of the modem.

    4. Connect the other side of the antenna cable to the salt shaker antenna. As before, snug it down lightly—do not over-torque.

    5. Connect the modem power cable to the power board at the port labeled COM3.

Reconnecting the Display Board and Powering Up

    1. If the front panel was removed, reinstall it by connecting the ribbon cable and the ground wire.

    2. Take the other end of the ethernet cable and connect it to the port on the back of the display board.

    3. If needed, use the included gray cable clip to secure the ethernet cable.

    4. Power the controller back up. The hardware installation is now complete.

⚠️Important: With all communication methods, ensure that the antenna and ribbon cable are connected before powering up the controller.
🚨Powering up without an antenna or ribbon cable will damage the device and void the warranty.

    Configuring the Cell Modem

After the hardware installation is complete and the controller is powered on, you must configure the cell modem settings.

    1. Turn the controller dial to the Network position.

    2. Open Communication Setup and ensure that it is set to Ethernet.

    3. Navigate to BaseManager Server Setup and verify that Server URL Mode is set to DNS Lookup.

    4. Press the Enter button to connect to BaseManager.

    Verifying the Connection

After initiating the connection, verify that the cell modem is working properly and connected to BaseManager.

    1. At the run screen, check that BaseManager displays Connected.

    2. Alternatively, turn the dial to Network and navigate to BaseManager Server Setup to confirm that BaseManager Status reads Connected.

Both of these indicators confirm that your cell modem is working and that you are successfully connected to BaseManager.

Adding the Controller to an Existing BaseManager Account

If you have not yet connected your controller to BaseManager, you will need to use the authorization code to add the controller to an existing BaseManager account.

    1. Locate the authorization code that appears on the controller display.

    2. Take a picture of the authorization code and the accompanying instructions before leaving the site. You will need this information when you return to the office to complete the setup process.

    3. Follow the instructions provided with the authorization code to add your new controller to your BaseManager account.
