    Setting a Zone Event Stop/Pause

    3200S: Zone Event Stop/Pause

    PDF

Note: Compatible with firmware versions 19.9 and up. Setting event stop or pause requires a site admin or company admin user role. The operator user role has view permissions.

    Overview

The Zone Event Stop/Pause feature allows users to temporarily halt irrigation on specific zones during a defined time window — without modifying existing programs. This is ideal for sites that host temporary events such as foot races, outdoor festivals, or maintenance work that require certain irrigation areas to be shut off for a limited period. Because event times and locations can vary, it is difficult to model programs around easily shutting off these irrigation areas. Zone Event Stop/Pause enables Baseline sites to minimize the irrigation impact of events as much as possible. Up to 8 Zone Event Stop/Pause can be configured at 1 time.

Stop vs Pause – What's the Difference?

Stop – The selected zones will skip their irrigation cycle during the event window. The program continues to run on schedule or after a start condition, but the affected zones remain off.

Pause – When a program runs and contains zones in an active pause event, non-paused zones run normally as scheduled. Any zones not covered by the pause event continue to irrigate without interruption. Paused zones are skipped as the program progresses. When all remaining zones in the program are covered by the pause event, the program status will change from running to paused. Once the End Date expires, the program resumes and the previously paused zones irrigate as programmed.

    Accessing Zone Event Stop/Pause

Zone Event Stop/Pause is managed within the Schedules section of AppManager. Follow these steps to navigate to the feature:

    1. Log in to AppManager and select your site.
    2. Click Schedules in the left navigation panel.
    3. Expand the controller row and click Manage Controller from the context menu.

    1. Scroll down to locate the Zone Event Stop/Pause container.

    1. In the Zone Event Stop/Pause container, click “Add Zone Event Stop/Pause.” A slide-out panel will appear.
    2. Fill in the following fields:

Description – Enter a label to help identify your event.

Zones – Select the zones to be affected. Type a range (e.g., 1-50, 75, 100-120) and click Apply, or use the numbered zone buttons. Use Shift + Click to select a range.

Event Type – Choose Stop Watering or Pause Watering. See the Stop vs. Pause section above for behavior details.

Event Number – Select the event number (1-8). Used to identify the event slot on the controller.

Start Date – The date and time the event begins. Zones selected will be stopped or paused starting at this time.

End Date – The date and time the event ends. Irrigation will automatically resume after this time.

Enabled – Toggle on (blue) to activate the event. Toggle off to disable and delete the zone event stop/pause entry.

    1. Click Save to apply the event, or Cancel to discard your changes.

    Removing or Disabling an Event

Disabling an entry immediately removes its effect on the zones. Letting an event expire naturally means irrigation resumes when the End Date is reached. Use the Enabled toggle if you need to cancel an active event ahead of schedule. Zone Event Stop/Pause entries are not permanently deleted through a delete button. To deactivate an event:

    1. Locate the event in the Zone Event Stop/Pause container.
    2. Click on the event row to open the slide-out panel.
    3. Toggle the Enabled switch to the off position.
    4. Click Save. The event will remain in the list but will no longer affect irrigation.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I overlap multiple Zone Event Stop/Pause entries on the same zones?

Yes — you can configure multiple entries that affect overlapping zones, as long as the total number of entries does not exceed 8 per controller.

What happens to irrigation after the event ends?

Irrigation resumes automatically based on the program schedule. For Stop events, zones will run again at their next scheduled time. For Pause events, the program and zones will continue from where they left off once the end date expires.

Does this feature work on BaseStation 1000 or other hardware?

No. Zone Event Stop/Pause is available exclusively on the BaseStation 3200S running firmware version 19.9 or higher.
