Understanding the Flow Meter Totals Report

    PDF

The Flow Meter Totals Report displays water usage recorded by each flow meter assigned to a controller over a defined date range. It includes summary totals for the report period as well as a day-by-day breakdown for each individual meter.

    Report Header

The top of the report displays identifying information for the site and controller:

Company – The organization associated with the site.

Site – The specific location the controller is installed at.

Controller – The controller ID assigned to the device.

MAC / Serial Number – Hardware identifiers for the controller.

    Type – The controller model.

Version – The firmware version running on the controller at the time the report was generated.

Period – The date range the report covers.

Prepared on – The date the report was generated.

By – The AppManager user who generated the report.

    Summary Totals

Near the top of the report, three summary figures are displayed for the entire report period:

Total Run Time – The combined total of all scheduled and manual zone or program runtime across the report period, in minutes.

Total Manual Run Time – The portion of total zone run time that was triggered manually by a user rather than through a scheduled program, in minutes.

Total Usage – The total water recorded by all flow meters at this controller across the full report period, in gallons.

    Flow Meter Sections

Below the summary totals, the report displays a separate section for each flow meter assigned to the controller. Each section identifies the flow meter by its serial number and description (for example, WF03765 - Shoshone Line 2), and displays the total usage recorded by that meter for the full report period.

    Reading the Chart

Each meter's section includes a bar chart displaying water usage in gallons on the vertical axis and dates along the horizontal axis. Each bar represents the total water recorded by that meter on that minute, hour, day or month. Depending on the time spanned by the report. Days with no recorded flow will display as 0.

    Data Table

Below each chart, a data table lists the exact water usage recorded by that meter for each interval in the report period. This allows you to review precise figures for any date or resolution within the report range.

    Multiple Flow Meters

If the controller has more than one flow meter configured, each meter will appear as its own section — with its own usage summary, chart, and data table — presented sequentially in the report.

    Flow Meters Showing Zero Usage

A flow meter that records 0 gallons for the entire report period may indicate one of two things: either no irrigation occurred on that line during the report period, or the meter may be disconnected or not actively recording. If a zero-usage meter is unexpected, verifying the meter's physical connection and configuration in AppManager or BaseManager is recommended.

    Run Time vs. Usage

The Total Run Time reflects how long zones were actively running, while Total Usage reflects what the flow meters physically recorded. These two figures are independent of each other — run time is calculated from controller scheduling data, while usage is measured directly by the flow meters. Differences between the two are normal and can result from a variety of operational factors.
