    What's New in Version 3.9.0

     

     

    WeatherTRAK Mobile version 3.9.0 adds the new Controller Operating Status tab, which allows users to view live flow information and electrical diagnostics. These features allow easier troubleshooting of site hydraulics and electrical connections.

    Note that electrical diagnostic information is only available for Controllers with 8X firmware, such as OptiFlow enabled devices.

     

    Workflow Changes

    To start, update WeatherTRAK Mobile to 3.9 using the App Store or Google Play Store.

    Manually Starting a Station

    The workflow for manually turning on a station is unchanged aside from a banner update — the page formerly labeled Stations now appears as Irrigation & Status.

    Steps:

    1. Select the number of minutes needed to run the station manually.
    2. Press the 0.00 button.
    3. Press Start to run the station.
    4. Once the message is sent, a raindrop progression icon appears to notify the user that the message is being processed.
    5. Once the message is sent and received by the controller, the station begins to irrigate.
    6. While the station is irrigating, the user can select Operating Status in the lower-right corner to access the new monitoring feature.

     

    Starting Flow/Electrical Monitoring

    1. From Operating Status, the user is directed to the new monitoring feature and presses Start Monitoring.
    2. A confirmation message appears; the user presses OK to begin monitoring.
    3. Monitoring capabilities depend on controller firmware:
      • 7x firmware (not updated to OptiFlow): the customer can monitor flow usage only.
      • 8x firmware / OptiFlow: the customer can monitor both electrical and water usage.

     


    Information Available in the new menu

    Live Flow Information:

    Users can now view flow data for a mainline and each Point of Connection (POC) associated with that mainline, including:

    • Flow rates
    • POC identifier value
    • Mainline identifier value
    • Master valve style
    • GPM for each POC assigned to the mainline
    • Totalized flow for all POCs associated with the mainline

    POC Line Graph

    Charts flow over time so users can confirm whether system flow is within the expected operating range or has exceeded it. Users can toggle between POCs to view each one individually.

    Station Status

    Displays station-level details, of which stations are actively running, including:

    • Program
    • Station number
    • Irrigation type (manual or scheduled)
    • Assigned Station Flow (ASF)
    • Station High Flow Threshold (SHF)
    • Station Low Flow Threshold (SLF)

     

     

    Electrical Current (8X only)

    A new line graph charts the controller's total milliamp load, helping users confirm whether the system is operating within the acceptable electrical range.

     

    Technical Notes and FAQ

    • Before a user requests a Start Monitoring action, a Not Connected icon is displayed, indicating that monitoring has not yet been requested.
    • Once the monitoring request has started, the icon changes to Connected and shows how long it will be before the app receives new monitoring data.
    • If there is a delay in communication between the controller and the mobile app, a delay message appears, then disappears once the connection is restored and the state changes to Connected. This lets the user know why data isn't currently being monitored.
    • Once monitoring has started, if the user exits the page, they can return to the controller they were monitoring and the data will have continued to be captured in the background
    • Data refreshes every 10 seconds
    • 2-wire and Conventional wire electrical diagnostic data is supported.
