Step-by-Step Guide
Accessing MobileAccess
There are two methods to access MobileAccess on your mobile device.
Method 1: Direct Browser Navigation
1. Open a web browser on your phone or tablet.
2. Navigate to baselineapps.net/m. This URL shortcuts one of the steps at App Manager and takes you directly into the MobileAccess portion.
3. Log in with your username and secure password that you previously created to access your controllers.
Method 2: Home Screen Shortcut
1. Create a MobileAccess shortcut on your phone's home screen to jump directly to the login page.
While both methods look like an app from the App Store or Google Play, MobileAccess is simply accessed through a web browser with an internet connection.
Selecting Your Controller
1. After logging in, you'll see a list of controllers associated with your account.
2. Select the correct controller you need to manage.
3. Once selected, you'll see the common field tasks that MobileAccess supports.
MobileAccess is not a substitution for full App Manager, but it is a very efficient tool to use remotely for common irrigation management tasks.
Understanding the Navigation Icons
Before exploring the capabilities, familiarize yourself with the bottom navigation icons to prevent accidentally logging out:
The home button takes you back to the controller list.
The menu button takes you to controller operations.
The arrow logs you out of MobileAccess.
Remembering what these icons do is important to avoid unintentional logouts.
Running Zones Manually
The manual run zone function is one of the most commonly used features in MobileAccess.
1. From the menu, select Manual Run Zone.
2. You'll see a list of zones from the search and assign process. Many zones may already be named, while zones near the bottom of the list may be unnamed. Without map view, it's hard to know where unnamed zones are located, so it's a good idea to name your zones in desktop BaseManager.
3. Select the zone you want to run manually (for example, zone 8).
4. Change the runtime from the default 10 minutes to your desired duration (for example, 3 minutes).
5. Press Start.
6. The runtime will count down from your selected duration.
Stopping a Manual Run Early
If you don't want the zone to run for the full duration, press Stop to end the manual run.
Moving Between Zones
Using the arrow keys at the bottom, you can move to adjacent zones (for example, from zone 8 to zone 9 or zone 10) while leaving the same runtime setting. This is helpful when doing a system wet checkout in the field.
Starting or Stopping a Program
1. From the menu, select Start or Stop a Program.
2. Select the program you want to run (for example, program 4).
3. Press Start. The program will turn blue, indicating that it's manually running.
4. If you don't want the program to complete its full cycle, press Stop to terminate the manual run.
Testing Devices
At the Test Device menu, you can test every device connected to the 2-wire path, including zones, master valves, flow meters, and pressure sensors.
1. Select the device you want to test (for example, soil moisture sensor 1).
2. Press Test.
3. The test results will display relevant information. For a soil moisture sensor, this includes the current moisture content, the soil temperature, and the health of the 2-wire path.
Checking Flow Status
At Flow Status, you can see if any water is running through your flow meters. If you have multiple water sources on your site, you can check each one to see if water is flowing.
Additional Options
MobileAccess provides several other useful functions:
- Rain Sensor Status: Review the current status of your rain sensors.
- Rain Delay: Set a rain delay to temporarily suspend irrigation.
- Geo-Locating a Device: Use your mobile device to geo-locate devices, which can speed up the BaseManager map creation process. This feature is covered in detail in another video.
Reviewing and Managing Messages
1. At Messages, you can review controller messages.
2. You can delete messages if you don't need them.
It's a good idea to leave your messages intact until you've resolved any issues associated with that message.
Logging Out
When you're finished with MobileAccess, don't forget to log out using the arrow icon at the bottom of the screen.
