Learn how to protect a mainline and close a master valve with a BL-5406-kit pressure biCoder.

Scenario 

• Commerical site. 
• Normally open Master Valve (mainline is always pressurized).
• Moderate pressure can occasionally experience spikes from the supply (domestic or pump), which may damage components.

Goal

• To prevent pressure spikes from damaging mainlines and components by automatically closing the master valve when pressure exceeds 150 psi.

Required Hardware

• ¼” connection to mainline.
• BL-5406-kit pressure biCoder. 
• BL-CP PFS-100 control points and pressure. 

Bringing it Together 

• BaseManager → Flow Setup → Control Points (we want to influence downstream of that master valve). 
• Set a High Pressure Limit 150 psi.
• Enable Shutdown. 
• Under Devices:
  • Add Pressure Sensor, Flow Meter and Master Valve.
  • Enable Normally Open.
