    PipeView

    Tech Talk Tuesday

    PDF es:

Baseline Product Manager Bob Beers joins the discussion this week to look at PipeView.  We cover what PipeView is, what it does, and how it can help you manage site hydraulics.

    Goal

    • Combines data from multiple devices into single, easy-to-access view showing the site’s piping structure and hydraulics
    • Create a model of the site’s piping layout as accurately as possible to reflect the actual underground system.

    Starts with the Water Source

Enter a water budget, set priorities/shutdown limits, edit details, and track monthly performance against overall budget. Provides a powerful way to monitor water usage.

    Delete

    Control Points

Managed by the water source; two devices control water flow. Shows real-time flow data, details on which devices manage the control points, the associated controller/FlowStation, and historical performance for each device.

    Delete

    Mainline

Shows where water comes from, how it’s managed, and what supplies water to the site. Can set all the parameters, allowing shutdown info and zone delays. Details are editable in PipeView.

    Site Monitoring, Analytics & Reports

    • View site activity and watering locations. Offers analytics for ongoing management, understand activity/performance and best resolution flow data for the hydraulic system.
    • Provides detailed reports on multiple devices. Allows observation of real-time flow versus pressure and how that dynamic changes over time.
    Delete

    Zone-Level Scope & Alerts/Thresholds

    • View zone history from water source through the system to the zone level.
    • Manage alerts/thresholds to keep balance; quickly locate and backtrack alerts for troubleshooting.

    Hydraulic Structure Setup

Built in BaseManager for one or multiple 3200 sites; create assignments from zones → mainline → control point → water source.

    FlowStation Integration

    • FlowStation app builds hydraulic structure with same info as PipeView;, which is the graphic representation from BaseManager setup.
    • Mainline-to-mainline configuration lets you manage flow across different pipe sizes and flow values connected to control points or laterals (requires FlowStation).

    Bypass Scenario

    • A primary 6” water source with high flow capacity, plus zones connected directly to that mainline and quick coupler operation when the system isn’t running.
    • The bypass works two ways:
      • A 1.5” pipe provides lower flow resolution for zones on the 6” line that may run independently
      • It keeps the mainline charged for quick coupler access. If the mainline breaks with only the 1.5” open, water loss is much less than if the full 6” opened.

    Red Mainline (Flow Value)

Indicates the need for data hygiene, ensuring the system is scrubbed and optimized to reflect how water actually behaves, may cause inaccurate variance or indicate real shutdown.

    Mobile

Mobile responsive for field access. Manual zone operation not available. Works with version 16.0 and up
