Accessing the HydroPoint University Training Store
HydroPoint University uses a learning management system called Learn Upon to manage all WeatherTrak training content. The training is tested, certified, streaming on-demand, and available at no cost beyond the time required to complete the courses.
1. Navigate to the training website at hydropoint.learnupon.com to access the HydroPoint University training store.
Creating Your Learn Upon Account
Before you can enroll in any training courses, you need to set up a Learn Upon account.
1. Click the Sign In button located in the top right-hand corner of the page.
2. Since this is your first time visiting the site, click the Don't have an account link.
3. Complete the account setup page by filling out all necessary information to create your Learn Upon account.
4. Once your account is set up, you're ready to begin selecting your HydroPoint University training content.
Choosing the Right Training Path
HydroPoint University offers multiple training options depending on your needs and time availability.
How to Get Started with WeatherTrak (Basic, Non-Certified)
If this is your first time using the training site, the How to Get Started with WeatherTrak training path is the shortest option available. This training consists of one hour of content broken down into four modules or chapters, with each module lasting 20 minutes or less. This training path does not include a test or certification—it's designed purely as a quick training resource.
Basic WeatherTrak System Introduction Training (Certified)
For those seeking certified training, the Basic WeatherTrak System Introduction training is the appropriate choice. This training includes two and a half hours of content, with each module or session designed as a video of 20 minutes or less covering a specific piece of WeatherTrak content.
Each session either provides a demonstration or discusses a WeatherTrak-specific management topic, such as WeatherTrak ET-based irrigation schedules or WeatherTrak alerts.
Understanding the Certification Test
The certification test at the end of the Basic WeatherTrak System Introduction training is entirely optional. If you only want the training content, you can complete the course without taking the test.
However, if you intend to receive the certificate, you should be aware of the following requirements:
The test consists of 20 questions with a mix of true/false and multiple-choice questions. You must pass with a score of 80% or better to receive the WeatherTrak Basic Introduction certificate, which will be valid for one year.
If you take the test and do not pass, you can retake the course and retake the test up to three times per year to earn your Basic WeatherTrak Introduction certification.
Advanced Feature Training Options
In addition to the basic training options, the Learn Upon site offers advanced feature trainings. The OptiFlow Certified Training provides three levels of tested and certified OptiFlow training to prepare you for the advanced features of OptiFlow.
HydroPoint is continuously adding additional training materials to the Learn Upon site, so you can always browse through the available courses to find content that matches your interests. The Learn Upon tools effectively showcase all available HydroPoint University training content.
Enrolling in Training Courses
Once you've identified the training courses you want to take, follow these steps to enroll.
1. After successfully logging in to hydropoint.learnupon.com, you'll arrive at the HydroPoint University training store.
2. Scroll through the available trainings to find the course you want to take. All trainings are listed with a price of Free.
3. Select the course you want—whether it's the Basic WeatherTrak System Introduction, How to Get Started with WeatherTrak, or one of the certified OptiFlow trainings.
4. If you need more options, scroll to the second page of trainings where additional advanced training courses are available.
5. Click to add your selected course to your cart. You'll see confirmation that the course has been added.
6. Click Proceed to Cart and then proceed to checkout. Remember, this training is included with your WeatherTrak purchase at no additional cost.
7. After checkout, you'll be taken to your courses page where you can see all the courses you've enrolled in.
8. From your courses page, you can start and stop your enrolled courses on demand at any time.
