Welcome to Baseline!
This subsection of the Hydropoint knowledge base has been created to help you with all things related to the Substation. For more general Baseline help, you can go to the KnowledgeBase home page here.
Note that there are multiple models of SubStation controllers available, such as the RV or CP. For the most part, these controllers follow similar processes when troubleshooting. However, make sure to review the proper documentation when installing and programming these controllers. You can learn about the different models of SubStation here.
You can either use the categories on the landing page (the page that you went to when scanning the controller's QR code) or use the search bar for specific questions. For now, we recommend following along the process outlined below. Make sure to read this entire article before moving on.
Note about Online Substations
The SubStation allows a BaseStation 3200 to control devices via the cloud when a physical connection may be difficult. Because of this, if your SubStation has already been connected to a BaseStation 3200 we recommend that you look in the KnowledgeBase subsection for the BaseStation 3200 for all programming information.
About this page
This guide has been created with the intent that users of all experience levels will be able to access information about their controller. Because of this, you may want to skip sections that are irrelevant to you or are about processes that have already been completed (such as installation and activation if you are standing in front of an online controller). We recommend that if you have a specific question about an installed and activated controller, you search for it in the KnowledgeBase search bar, or check the troubleshooting or programming sections of this subsection.
We recommend that you complete a Baseline training certification before working on a Baseline controller
Our training courses are completely free, and will arm you with all the knowledge needed to excel with the Baseline platform. Once certified, you will be able to use Baseline controllers to their full potential, which unlocks more job opportunities for you. Click the button below to learn more. If you could not complete the training, no worries! This guide will walk you through the basics of getting your Baseline controller online. If you already have completed any of these steps, you can skip them as needed.
Important note about Account Setup
We recommend that you setup your account before you go to a site, regardless of if the controller has already been installed. This gives you time to get access to a controller or create your account before you are out in the field, saving you time in the sun. Some sites may need you to install and activate a controller, and some may already be fully programmed. While you may be able to accomplish a large amount of programming at the controller, it is much easier via the BaseManager app.
Account Setup
If you want to use BaseManager, you will need to create an account and gain access. For more information, you can visit the “Getting Started” section in the “BaseManager Setup & Operations” subcategory.
Install
All Baseline controllers must be installed according to their respective installation guides. You can visit the install section of the SubStation Knowledgebase here or from the landing page. Choose the installation guide that matches your chassis and model. Note that if you are also installing a BaseStation 3200 to the site that will control the SubStation, you will need to follow the installation guides on the BaseStation 3200 subsection of the KnowledegBase.
Connect
Once your SubStation is fully installed, you will need to connect it to all stations and devices, then connect it to the BaseStation 3200 via the cloud. For information on how to connect your SubStation to a BaseStation, visit the Quick Start Guide here.
Program
Once your SubStation has been connected to your BaseStation, it is time to program it. For an overview of how you can program your SubStation using your BaseStation or BaseManager, consult the SubsStation Manual that matches your model in the documents subsection of this KnowledgeBase. Alternatively, see the BaseStation 3200 subsection of the KnowledgeBase for information on how to program a SubStation's stations and devices.
