Cell Modem Module Installation and Setup (BaseStation 3200)

    Cloud LTE Modem

    PDF es:

Learn how to install and configure the BL-Cloud cell modem module on the Basestation 3200 V17.11.

Please note that the activation link in the in video is outdated. For the current link, please go here.

    Step-by-Step Guide

Ensure that your Cell Modem box has a wireless service activation info card, a power cord, mounting screws and a zip tie, a salt shaker antenna, and the cell module itself.

Prior to installation, activate the module using the information on the activation card. Go to https://form.jotform.com/42736672737162 and input all of the required personal information and site information. Finalize the form by agreeing to the terms and conditions, and add some semblance of a signature.

Please allow 3-5 business days for activation, Baseline will contact you to let you know that your modem has been activated. Please do not install a modem to a controller before it has been activated.

    Installation

Power down the controller at the circuit breaker, or by removing the plastic cover and unplugging the orange lead from the transformer.

Next pull up the rubber plug from the antenna hole and install the salt shaker antenna. Simply tighten slightly with a wrench, no need to torque it down.

Next, screw on the hand tightening antenna cable, which attaches the antenna to the modem. Ensure it is snug, but no need for excessive tightening. Mount the modem to the chassis using the provided screws and ensure a tight fit.

Finally, attach the power cable to the cell module and then to the power board at the port labeled “COM 2”. Use the provided zip tie to secure the power cable and antenna together, so they aren’t damaged.

If you removed the front panel during the installation, reconnect the panel, ribbon cable, and grounding wire. Ensure that the antenna is connected BEFORE powering up the controller. Connecting a device without an antenna will damage the modem and void the warranty.

    Configuration

Turn the dial to the network position, and press enter on the Communication Setup menu. Use the (+/-) buttons to change the Comm Type option to CN_Cell (Cloud Network Cell). If the Comm Type Status option reads “Is Available” and “Connected”, the Modem is correctly installed.

    Connecting to BaseManager

If you haven’t already connected the controller to BaseManager, from the Communication Setup screen press BACK and select the BaseManager Server Setup option. With “Connect” highlighted, press enter. You will see an authorization PIN that you will need to add a controller to an existing BaseManager account. Take a photo of this screen or write the PIN down.

At baselineapps.net, login to your account and open BaseManager, then in the menu in the upper left corner select Administration and then Administration again.

In this tab go to my controllers and then add a new controller.

Select a site, enter the pin, and then add any additional site data to complete the activation and connection process.

Back at the controller, set the dial to the run position. If the option for base manager is green and it says connected, the Cell Modem is active and is connected to BaseManager.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up your Baseline Cloud Cell Modem with your BaseStation 3200. For more information, see our Cloud Network Modem Guide.
