Step-by-Step Guide
Understanding the Authorization PIN Code
Shortly after connecting your controller to a network or after allowing BaseManager to connect, your controller will produce an authorization PIN code. This security code allows your controller—and only your controller—to connect to the BaseManager server. The code is unique and case sensitive, so it's important to take a picture with your phone or write it down before proceeding. You'll need this information when you return to a desktop computer to complete the authorization process.
If you cleared the PIN code before taking a picture, you can retrieve it again by following these steps:
Retrieving the PIN Code on a BaseStation 1000
1. Navigate to System Setup on your BaseStation 1000.
2. Select Network Setup.
3. Go to BaseManager Info.
4. Disconnect and then reconnect to BaseManager. This will generate the same code again.
5. Take a picture of the PIN code or write it down.
Retrieving the PIN Code on a BaseStation 3200
1. Navigate to Network on your BaseStation 3200.
2. Select BaseManager Server Setup.
3. Disconnect and then reconnect to BaseManager to generate the PIN code.
4. Take a picture of the PIN code or write it down.
Logging into AppManager
The information on the PIN code screen directs you to baselineapps.net. Log in using the unique username and password that was created when you opened your AppManager account.
Adding Your Controller to AppManager
Once you're logged into AppManager, follow these steps to authorize and add your controller:
1. Go to the Admin tab.
2. Select Manage BaseStation 1000s. Note that this process is the same for any baseline controller you authorize—just select the appropriate device from the list.
3. Click Add BaseStation 1000 (or the appropriate controller type).
4. Enter the controller information:
- Enter a Controller Description
- Enter the Activation Code. This case-sensitive code is unique to your controller and won't work with anyone else's. As you enter the code, the system will recognize your specific controller and allow it to connect to the BaseManager server
5. Under Sites, select one of the sites you created when you opened your BaseManager account.
6. Under Geographical Settings, pick the correct country, state, and time zone. If you select the wrong time zone, your controller could be several hours different from your local time.
7. In the Assigned Users to Controllers section, determine which users are allowed to access this particular controller. Select each user who should have access. If you skip this step, users won't see any controllers available to them when they sign in.
8. Select Add Controller to complete the process.
Verifying Controller Access
After adding the controller, you can verify that it's properly connected and accessible:
1. Log out of AppManager.
2. Log back in with one of the user accounts you assigned to the controller.
3. Go to BaseManager.
4. Look for your newly added controller.
5. Navigate to Menu, then Sites and Controllers to see the newly connected controller listed.
You can now connect to this controller through BaseManager and mobile access.
